Real Madrid are handed a boost in the transfer of Chelsea winger Eden Hazard after the player admits his desire to play under Zinadine Zidane.
Hazard is one of the top targets for Real Madrid as they look to revamp their squad next season and the French coach has openly endorsed the Belgian winger on several occasions.
In an interview with Belgian newspaper La Nouvelle Gazette, Hazard admits that he would love to play under his idol Zidane.
“I would like to be trained by Zidane. When I was little, I used to watch him on television and on the internet for hours”; said the Chelsea winger.
Hazard’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2020 and he went on to comment that he is extremely happy at the Premier League club.
In 2010, Zidane has recommended the Los Blancos to sign Hazard; but he ended up at the ranks of Stamford Bridge then and was their best player in the during the title winning 2014-15 season.
Earlier in April 2015, Zidane commented that he likes Eden Hazard more than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
‘”There is Ronaldo and Messi, both of whom are spectacular, but I like Eden Hazard more” he told FIFA’s official website.
“I like everything he does on the field. I like his behaviour, his decisiveness and love to see his progress every year.”
Hazard form this season took a dramatic dip and is yet to score a goal in the Premier League. His only goal of the season in all competitions for Chelsea came in the 5-1 FA cup fourth round against MK Dons.
Chelsea’s league position at the end of the season will be a key factor that decides Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge and earlier reports suggested that failing to qualify for Champions League may open the door for a mass exodus at the club.
