Ebro vs Valencia
Spanish Copa del Rey
Date: Tuesday, 30 October 2018
Kick-Off at 18:30 UK / 19:30 CET
Venue: Estadio El Carmen (Zaragoza).
Ebro earned the big Copa del Rey double against top flight heavyweights Valencia after eliminating Lleida Esportiu in the third round of the competition.
The Segunda B outfit managed to go this far thanks to a comeback victory through goals from Ubay Luzardo and Sergio Cortes within the last 20 minutes of the affair against Lleida.
This will no doubts be a huge occasion for the team led by Manolo Gonzalez. Arlequinados will enter it with a significantly improved atmosphere in the dressing room after they picked up their inaugural victory of the season away at the rock-bottomed Peralda in the 9th round of Segunda B.
Ebro thus overtook Peralda and now sit 19th out of 20 teams in their respective group in the third tier of Spanish football.
Ebro vs Valencia: Head-to-head
The hosts will have the chance to enjoy the clash with Valencia for the first time ever on Tuesday evening.
Ebro vs Valencia: Prediction
The gulf in quality between the two teams is just massive and we would be shocked to see anything else but a comprehensive victory for the Bats in this first leg of their last 32 round clash with Ebro.
The match with the lower-division side should allow Marcelino’s men to boots up their much-needed confidence by scoring loads on the evening. They did not score two or more goals in any of last nine matches in all competitions. The poor attacking form causes the fact they are just 14th-placed team after 9 rounds of play in Primera Division.
Rodrigo and Kevin Gameiro will likely be rested here, but Michy Batshuayi might get the chance to make the starting line-up. Marcelino will mix up his squad, but Valencia still have an incomparably better team. The visitors will dominate from the get go and we expect them to pick up an easy straightforward win by three or more goals difference.
