Dortmund is out for blood when they welcome Union Berlin in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash, hoping to make it three in a row and get back to the Iron Ones for shocking defeat in their last showdown.

Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin: Match Preview

The Black and Yellows continue their good run of form, having taken six points from their first two matches of 2020; after getting better of FC Augsburg 5-3 away from home, Borussia breezed past 1. FC Cologne in a 5-1 home victory on Friday evening.

It was a win that kept Lucien Favre and his men in title race, as Die Borussen (thanks to Leipzig’s blunder last week) sit at fourth with just four points off the Red Bulls at the top.

Dortmund remains undefeated this season in front of their Big Yellow Wall at Westfalenstadion, having won six while drawing three times, with ridiculous goal difference of 31:10.

After a goalless first period, a couple of second-half goals fired 1. FC Union Berlin to an important victory at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei against FC Augsburg.

This put an end to their four-game winless streak which came after a pretty successful two months period which saw Union shoots up to 11th, six points off the relegation dogfight everyone thought they’ll take part in.

Most of their good work is done at Stadion An der Alten Forsterei. Away from it, the Iron Ones are most of the time hopeless, getting just five points from nine games, result so bad that they rival Fortuna for the worst team of the league.

Favre has all of his men available through Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marcel Schmelzer and Thomas Delaney needs some more work at the training center since they’ve just came out from injuries.

Bit of an injury crisis in Berlin, as their line for infirmary is getting longer and longer. Robert Andrich, Manuel Schmiedebach, Joshua Mees, Laurenz Dehl and Akaki Gogia will sit out trip to Dortmund while the jury’s still out for Lennard Maloney, Suleiman Abdullahi and Grischa Prömel.

Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin: Prediction

As always when Dortmund is concerned, we’re going with goals, goals and some more goals. The Black and Yellows have so much firepower in their arsenal to shoot anyone to oblivion with defense erratic enough to let the opponents slip few in.

But more often than not, Die Borussen do good chunk of the scoring after the restart. In almost all outings at Westfalenstadion, Borussia have scored at least three goals after the break. But I’ll not be greedy; two will do it for me this time.
