Dijon return to the Ligue 1 since 2011/12 and they mark their second coming with the home games against Nantes on Saturday.
Dijon who were relegated to Ligue 2 following a poor run of results in the 2011/12 season which saw them conceding 63 goals in 38 matches. A second place finish in the 2015–16 Ligue 2 season gained promoted them back to the French top flight. They will be keen to create an impression in their second coming.
Nantes became a force to reckon in 2000/01 season when they won league title, which was called Division during that time. However they failed to maintain a similar level of performance in the following seasons and were 14th in the league table last season. Under the new management of Rene Girard, who had previously won the league with Montpellier in 2012, Nantes will be hoping for a respectable mid-table finish.

This could be a cagey affair and goals will be at premium. However, the home side hold a slight advantage to kick start their 2016/17 league campaign with a win.
