Derby County vs Coventry City
Date: 1 December 2020, Tuesday
Kick-off 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Pride Park.
Having improved under Wayne Rooney, Derby County will be desperate to bag all three points for the first time in 11 games when they welcome the newly promoted Coventry City on Tuesday.
The Rams were held to a 1-1 draw by Wycombe on the weekend, but they put up a hugely improved performance and could have won it if not for a series of brilliant saves by the opposition goalkeeper Ryan Allsop.
Derby remains at the foot of the table after 14 rounds of football in the Championship, having won just once during the period. They come to Tuesday’s game on the back of a 10 match winless streak.
Coventry bagged a priceless point at Norwich City and has now avoided in three consecutive games for the first time this season.
However, they remain without a win in away games and without a doubt one of the worst away sides in the league after earning just 2 points from the 7 games so far.
But it remains to be seen if Derby can finally end the winless streak and get back to winning ways at the expense of a poor visiting team.
Derby vs Coventry Head-to-head
- The teams are meeting for the first time since the 2011/12 season.
- Derby won 5 of their last 10 h2h meetings, along with 3 draws and 2 losses. However, those defeats came in the last 4 games.
- At home, the Rams are unbeaten in the last 7 with 3 wins and 4 draws and lost just 1 of the last 16 across all competitions.
- Both teams have scored in 7 of the last 8, when this game is played at Derby’s home ground.
Derby vs Coventry Prediction
Derby County showed some positive signs in their 1-1 draw with Wycombe, and we have sound reasons to believe that a win is on the cards on Tuesday night.
The team has too much quality and some senior players and all they need to improve is finishing scoring chances. Coventry is a poor away team and they tend to concede a lot of clear cut chances to the opposition and therefore there is a higher chance for Derby to avoid a defeat here.
The draw no bet on the hosts is probably the best option here, since we believe it is too early and risky to back them on an outright win.
The under 2.5 goals full-time is a decent option with none of Derby’s last 5 home games saw more than 2 goals.
