Houston Dynamo have ruined the dream kick off to the new campaign last Saturday when they surprisingly fell 1-2 at home to the likes of Vancouver Whitecaps. They will, however, have a nice opportunity to bounce back seven days after when they are to play one of competition’s weakest sides DC United at Maureen Hendricks Field.
The hosts ended the last term at the very foot of the Eastern Conference standings and they don’t promise a better result in the new campaign judging by the opening couple of fixtures. Truth be told, Ben Olsen’s squad is yet to play in front of the home crowd as they’ve travelled to Orlando (1-1 draw) and Atlanta (3-1 defeat) so far in the competition.
Given that DC United have only suffered three losses in front of the home crowd in the entire season last year, it’s not hard to conclude that it will be anything but a one-way street for the Dynamo here. The main challenge for Olsen will be to stop Houston’s attacking duo as both Mauro Manotas and Alberto Elis have managed to score a goal in two appearances in the new season. This will, however, be Dynamo’s first away fixture of the campaign. Three points in two home outings definitely can’t satisfy Wilmer Cabrera whose side will be hoping to garb the result away in Washington.
