DC United vs Chicago Fire
Major League Soccer

Kick-off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Avaya Stadium (San Jose).
Ever since Wayne Rooney joined the DC United side, their fortunes have turned. What was supposed to be a mediocre season is now turning out to be a fairytale. Their push towards the playoffs have taken a positive shift in momentum, and with two games in hand and just two points behind the sixth-placed Montreal Impact, nothing seems to stop them.
Chicago Fire has already been mathematically eliminated from the race to the playoffs. They have nothing left to play for except pride. The visiting contingent of travelling fans will witness a considerable dip in numbers as well as voice.
The players to watch out for DC United will be Wayne Rooney, which goes without saying, and Luciano Acosta. Acosta, in particular, has played a huge role in DC’s charge towards the playoffs. With 14 assists and nine goals, he has been at the forefront of this revitalised DC unit.
At Kennedy Memorial Stadium it’s advantage DC United, and they will play their hearts out to satisfy the fans who have been all along with their team all season. Another former Manchester United player is in the mix, Bastian Schweinsteiger. While Rooney has seemingly transformed himself into an outstanding MLS player, the same cannot be said about Basti. He and especially his team have been suffering this season.

DC United vs Chicago Fire Prediction
Chicago will have to come up with something miraculous to stop DC from their progress towards the playoffs, and at Kennedy Stadium, it seems a distant possibility. The visitors will have to deal with in-form Wayne Rooney and Luciano Acosta.
DC is currently on a five-match unbeaten streak. In their last nine matches at home, DC found victories in seven and was unbeaten in eight. DC has two games in hand and are two points off the playoff spot. It would be hard for the Chicago defence to put a stop to the charging DC forwards.
