DAC Dunajská Streda vs Partizan
UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifications,
Date: Thursday, 29 July 2021
Kick-off 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: MOL Arena.
Partizan bring a minimal one-goal advantage to the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round tie against Slovakian side DAC.
Partizan were in full control of proceedings on the pitch when they met Dunajska Dtreda in the first game seven days ago in Belgrade.
The team led by Aleksandar Stanojevic could have bagged at least one goal more on the occasion, but they will still be happy with this minimal edge ahead of the rematch in Slovakia.
They should have influential midfielder Bibras Natcho back in the starting XI after the Israeli player only came on from the bench in the first leg.
Natcho made the difference in the weekend’s important domestic win over Vojvodina (one of the toughest rivals for Partizan in the Serbian top tier) by netting a brace on the road.
We see the Serbians as heavy favorites to pick up another victory (probably even the more convincing one) in the second leg.
The visitors have been much better in European competition than their rivals. They played the group phase of the UEFA Europa League three times in the last decade (two years ago the most recent appearance).
On the other side, DAC have never even reached the Europa League playoffs. They made it to the third qualifying round last year only to suffer a catastrophic 0-7 defeat to Austrian LASK.
DAC vs Partizan Head-to-head
- This will be the second head to head outing between these two outfits.
- Partizan clinched a narrow 1-0 victory seven days ago in Belgrade in a match they completely controlled from the first whistle to the end.
- The former Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic bagged the only goal of the game.
DAC vs Partizan Prediction
DAC were incapable of keeping things tight at the back in European competitions in the last several years. They thus reached the third qualifying round of the Europa League by eliminating Jablonec 5-3 after extra time (in one game) and then they shipped seven goals to LASK.
They played eight Europa League qualifiers in total in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns and each of these eight matches saw goals scored at both ends. Partizan should well be in position to exploit their defensive holes in this return tie.
