Czech Republic vs Slovakia
UEFA Nations League
Date: Monday, 19 November 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Sinobo Stadium (Prague).
A real buzz is expected on Monday evening in and around Sinobo Stadium in Prague where local rivals Czech Republic and Slovakia are set to battle each other for the second time in the inaugural Nations League campaign. The match will, however, have no impact on the top spot in the Group 1 as Ukraine were the dominant force winning all three games throughout.
Both sides will come into this low on confidence. The hosts lost three of last four games since September. The lone win came just against Slovakia a month ago away in Trnava. Jaroslav Slihavy’s strikers were inspired on the occasion as both Michal Krmencik and Patrick Schick found the back of the net in the mentioned victory. However, the Czechs struggled a lot to keep things tight at the other end as they shipped as many as seven goals in back-to-back September losses to Ukraine (Nations League) and Russia (friendly).
Czech Republic vs Slovakia: Head-to-head
Czech Republic were more successful over the course of history. They won 6 and lost 3 of last 11 meetings with the Falcons.
Slovakians found it tough to leave the Czech soil undefeated losing four of five away matches against Czech Republic.
Both teams found the back of the net in four of last six head to head contests.
Czech Republic vs Slovakia: Prediction
Slihavy will be without Michal Krmencik here. It will be a big blow to Czech’s game as Viktoria Plzen forward was one of key players in team’s recent outings. Roma’s reserve striker Patrick Schick will thus be the lone striker on the evening for the Czechs.
Slovakia will also come into this in low spirits. They lost two and drew one of past three games and have not actually claimed a single point in two Nations League affairs so far. The Flacons parted ways with Jan Kozak as a result as Stefan Tarkovic only made his debut on the bench on Friday against Ukraine.
The visitors will practically have the full squad available including main stars Martin Skrtel and Marek Hamsik. The value is with Slovakia who are well worth backing not to lose at 1.65 here.
