Czech Republic vs Nigeria
International Friendly
Date: Wednesday, 6th June 2018
Kick-Off at 14:00 UK
Venue: Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion (Schwechat).
Nigeria have struggled to lift their team spirits ahead of the World Cup and they’ve earned just one win in four outings since the African Nations Championship and the 4-0 loss to Morocco in the Final. They now travel to Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion for their last test as they meet Czech Republic, hoping to finally end the unwanted streak and go to Russia on a high.
Super Eagles have beaten Poland in March but then suffered a 0-2 loss to Serbia, only held Congo DR to a 1-1 draw and most recently suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to England at Wembley. They have shown off as a tough side but Gernot Rohr’s men will have to do more to start winning.
Czech Republic travel to Austria just days after a thrashing 4-0 loss to Australia, which was their second loss in three games after being beaten by Uruguay (2-0) and bagging a 1-4 win over China in March. They have a tough UEFA Nations League Group in September and picking up their team sprits really looks like a must, which promises a solid challenge on the day as well.
We will thus back the Super Eagles to turn a narrow contest at Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion their way, going for a win at 2.05 as it does seem great value, seeing they travel to Russia this summer and really need a win to retain some stability.
Czech Republic will be no easy rivals to beat but they have struggled against stronger rivals, regularly conceding numbers of goals. We do see them making it on the scoresheet as well, though, and with that in mind – we’ll now also back a high-scoring clash with Over 2.5 goals FT at an eye-catching 2.30.
