CSKA Moscow vs Roma
UEFA Champions League
Date: Wednesday, 7 November 2018
Kick-Off at 17:55 UK / 18:55 CET
Venue: Stadion Luzhniki (Moscow).
CSKA Moscow could not follow up on a huge victory over the reigning champions Real Madrid as they went on to lose two and draw one of following three games across competitions. They host Roma in what could be the crucial match in the battle for the last 16 round on Wednesday evening at Stadion Luzhniki in Moscow.
Can Armeitsy bounce back from recent failures and take another big scalp here? Anything less than a three-pointer would seriously halt their push for the knockout stage given they are two points short on both Roma and Real Madrid at the top of the Group G standings after three rounds.
The Italians, on the other side, head into this off the back of consecutive domestic draws against the likes of Napoli and Fiorentina. Whilst the Romans failed to impress in the final third in these affairs, Eusebio Di Francesco can be satisfied with how his troops played at the back allowing just two goals against sides like Napoli and Fiorentina.
CSKA Moscow vs Roma: Head-to-head
This will be the fourth head to head encounter between the two teams.
Roma won two and drew one so far, but both wins came in matches played at Olimpico.
It was Edin Dzeko who stole the show when teams met each other two weeks ago in the Italian capital. The Bosnian forward bagged a brace and delivered an assist for Cengiz Under’s third goal.
CSKA Moscow vs Roma: Prediction
Viktor Goncharenko’s men scored just one goal in last three games. They disappointingly fell 1-2 to Krasnodar in the previous home clash, while last weekend saw them share spoils in a goalless draw to local rivals Dynamo Moscow.
Given Roma’s recent displays, we have reasons to expect a low-scoring contest. We’d not be surprised to even see the visitors keep a clean sheet on the evening. Last term semi-finalists will be highly motivated to pick up the victory which would keep them ground on the likes of Real Madrid at the very top of the group ladder.
CSKA Moscow vs Roma: Bet Tips
