French Champions Paris Saint-Germain are set to offer an astonishing deal for Cristiano Ronaldo to bring him to Paris next season.
A deal worth in the region of £500,000 per week before taxes is set to be offered and Ronaldo may end up receiving a staggering £250,000-a-week after tax.
The news may come as a major setback for Manchester United who are also very much interested in bringing the Portuguese super star back to Old Trafford.
PSG want to add an array of superstars to their line-up and they consider Ronaldo as their primary transfer target next season. Securing the signature of Ronaldo will also serve as a replacement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to bid his farewell at the end of the current season.
The 34-year-old Swede earns around £220,000-a-week after tax and PSG are willing to offer a much higher wage to Ronaldo. The French outfit also believes that a bid in this region is too hot for the Portuguese to resist and may also aid in the smooth exit from Real Madrid when the curtain falls on the current season.
Jorge Mendes insists that it would be impossible for Ronaldo to leave Madrid and the 30-year-old will end his career at Santiago Bernebeu, this will not stop PSG from going all in for their target.
His poor relationship with Rafa Benitez and his discomfort with the role Gareth Bale in the squad are other contributing factors that push him away from Real Madrid.
Manchester United on the other hand may be forced to look elsewhere as Louis Van Gaal is keen to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.
But the interests from Red Devils on CR7 is still high and this was evident in the the Dutchman’s post match comment after United’s win over Watford in the weekend – “With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.”
