Coventry City vs Milton Keynes Dons: Prediction
Coventry City came twice from behind to rescue a draw with Bristol Rovers in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday which secured them a replay game and a chance to meet Birmingham in Round 4.
More good news in the league as this might be that season for The Sky Blues, as Mark Robbins has them sitting at 3rd, point off Rotheram and four points away from Wycombe at the top (with game in hand). They’re a team with fewest defeats in the league and after unlucky loss at Shrewsbury, Sky Blues went on a winning run, smashing Wycombe 1-4 in the process.
At St Andrew’s, they’re virtually unbeatable. Only Tranmere got the better off them with a fluke goal near the end of the match. Since that unlucky loss at October 13th, Robbins’s men are still to be brought down at their home ground.
MK Dons exited the FA Trophy on Tuesday night as their second string fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands on League Two side, Newport County.
The rejuvenated Dons started to show some teeth following an appointment of Russell Martin. After twelve games without a win, Milton Keynes finally started to pick up some points which got them at 20th, tied with Wimbledon and three points off relegation threatened Tranmere.
With five points collected from 11 matches on the road, they’re second worst team of the division. But their away form shows signs of improvement lately (if we can call it that), as The Dons remained undefeated in two of last three games away from Stadium MK.
Having seen it all, Coventry edges it for me. They’re in the brilliant form at the moment, having trashed last two teams they’ve met and their exceptional streak in front of their own fans should continue.
And I think we should count on goals. Lots of them. Both sides have been trigger-happy recently and I see no reason why that trend shouldn’t last bit longer.
