Coventry City vs Stevenage
England – League Two
Date: Friday, 20 April 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK
Venue: Ricoh Arena (Coventry).
Coventry City rebounded from tough back-to-back loses clinching a highly important victory away at Crawley Town last weekend. Jordan Ponticelli played the match of the season bagging a brace to lead the Sky Blues to a 1-2 win and keep them inside the top seven in the league ladder. The team will have a nice chance to back up this win on Friday evening when Stevenage come to visit Ricoh Arena.
The visitors have nowhere to go in the remaining three games of the season. They sit 15th at the moment and they will come into the match off the back of a disappointing 0-2 loss to Cambridge United. Nonetheless, Coventry will have to be careful here knowing that the visitors are unbeaten in last three games on the road (two draws and a win over the rock-bottomed Newport County).
This will only be the fifth head to head encounter between Coventry City and Stevenage.
The Sky Blues were more successful so far, winning three, drawing one and losing one of five clashes.
None of last three head to head ties aw three or more goals, while the previous one ended in a 1.1 draw in November last year at The Lamex Stadium.
The Sky Blues generally play very well in front of the home crowd where they won 9 of last 12 games across competitions. They have an imperative to fix the horrendous impression from the previous home affair when they shipped as many as six goals in a horrific 2-6 loss to Yeovil Town.
Coventry City managed to rebound from such loss and everything points out to a straightforward contest from the very first minute of the clash with Stevenage on Friday at Ricoh Arena. The home win should thus be a banker bet at the 1.60 odds.
Alternatively, you can back the hosts to net two or more goals at the odds of 1.85 as they notched two or more in each of last three home outings in the league.
Coventry City to win @ 1.60
Coventry City Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 1.85.
