Cork City vs Bohemians
Republic of Ireland – Premier Division
Date: Monday, 19 March 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Turner’s Cross (Cork).
Bohemians got off to a really poor kick off to the new campaign claiming just five points in six opening clashes. Keith Long has been on the bench for three and a half years now, but his job might well be on the line without a serious turnaround in form in the next couple of weeks.
A miracle is hardly expected on Monday, though, when the Gypsies are about to visit Turner’s Cross to take on the defending champions Cork City. The Rebel Army look super strong at the start of the new season as well and they sit at the very top of the standings with four wins, a draw, and a defeat so far in the campaign.
Team’s top scorer from the previous term (Sean Maguire, 20 goals) is no longer there (signed for English Championship outfit Preston North End where he has notched nine goals in this term), but the newcomer Graham Cummins seems as a decent replacement having already bagged four in six appearances after coming from Scottish Premiership. Midfielder Kieran Sadlier has also been fantastic so far netting four goals as well and this duo will no doubts be the biggest threat to Bohemians’ goal on Monday.
The Bohs have shown plenty of defensive holes in Friday’s 2-2 draw with the struggling Sligo Rovers side at home and we can hardly seem them keep things tight at the back against the inspiring attacking line of Cork’s here.
Cork City vs Bohemians: Head-to-head
Cork City lead the head to head tie by a single win, but we must mention that Bohemians have been a tricky opposition for them lately.
The Rebel Army have actually failed to find the back of the net at all in three of last four clashes with the Gypsies.
Interestingly, none of last eight H2H clashes between these rivals has seen BTTS option “come in”.
Cork City vs Bohemians: Prediction
Cork City are enormous favourites here and we expect them to improve their poor H2H stats in latest matches with the Bohs.
The hosts should have no troubles easing past the struggling opposition here and we’ll back the home win by two or more goals as the top bet at the odds of 2.10.
Cork City vs Bohemians: Bet TipsAn alternate option is Cork City to keep a clean sheet @ 2.00 odds.
