Colombia vs Chile
Date: Saturday, 29 June 2019
Kick-off at 00:00 UK/ 01:00 CET
Venue: Arena Corinthians (Sao Paulo).
Defending champions Chile has set up a tough showdown in the Quarters against surprise favorites for the title, Colombia. Coming into the competition, the latter was expected to finish second in their group at best and make a commendable run into the tournament, but nothing too serious. But here we stand, with them not having conceded a single goal yet.
Even in their last group-stage game, with a relaxed starting eleven (due to them already ensuring the top spot), the squad recorded a 1-0 win over Paraguay, who had gone unbeaten till then.
James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao, Juan Cuadrado, etc have risen up to the challenge and is leading a serious assault for their nation to lift the trophy.
It’d be unwise to rule out fighters Chile till the final whistle. It’s no accident that they took home the last two Copas. And impressively, they have managed to keep the core of those teams from the last two campaigns.
As such, dealing with pressure is not something new to them. It’s unfortunate that they had to take part in the same group as that of Uruguay, and had to finish runner-up behind them. But even in the 2016 edition, they had finished behind Argentina in the initial stage, and then later went on to win the tournament.

Colombia vs Chile Prediction
Colombia has so far been having a perfect tournament. Even with favorites Argentina in the same mix, they managed to top their group, and impressively, have not let in a single goal yet. The only thing for them to worry would be Chile’s experience in these kinds of situations in recent history.
Still, the defending champions have shown vulnerability against tough opponents, and it was evident in their last tie against Uruguay, where all they wanted was a draw to top the group. Also, the Chileans went winless in 16 of their last 24 games and failed to score the last time these two met as well.
The team led by Radamel Falcao is on a five-fixture winning run and was unbeaten in 17 of their last 19 attempts. They also managed to win eight of their last nine ties and registered a combined scoreline of 10-0 from the last five clashes.
As such, expect them to grind out a tough win over Alexis Sanchez and co. It definitely will not be easy, but the scales are tipped towards the Colombians.
Taking into account the defensive rigidity of both squads, it’s logical to expect a low goal-scoring affair. Going on, brave punters could go for the 1-0 Correct Score option favoring Colombia at 6.00 odds.
