Chicago Fire have suffered a 3-1 loss to Philadelphia Union on Thursday and seeing their third loss in four games since mid-May will surely be very disappointing, as Veljko Paunovic’s men look to bounce back in front of the home crowd once again.
Men in Red have been regularly scoring goals at Toyota Park but have had troubles keeping their own at the back, which will have San Jose Earthquakes looking for an upset as well. Both sides sit in the bottom part of the table in their respective Conferences but success here could see them closing the gap in what shapes to be an important mid-table contest.
Earthquakes come into the match on the back of two consecutive losses, beaten by DC United in front of their fans and by LA Galaxy on the road. The loss in LA was only their first away game where they failed to find the net, though, and Mikael Stahre will want his men to overcome such troubles as soon as possible.
We will now back Chicago Fire to their third win over the rivals in a row at 1.95, hoping they can put on another solid performance at Toyota Park and retain some consistency after a shaky spell of form. Earthquakes have struggled on the road and this could prove costly in Bridgeview as well.
We have seen them regularly score goals, though, and we do hope they can boost their challenge now as well. With that in mind, we’ll also back a Yes on Both teams to score at 1.53 and with both sides’ respective goalscoring form – many have rated it like buying money for old rope.
