Chelsea want Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez

Defending English Premier League champions Chelsea are preparing to make a move for the transfer of Real Madrid play-maker James Rodriguez. The Colombian has fallen out of favour in the pecking order under Rafa Benitez at Santiago Bernebeu and wants to find a new club next summer.

Chelsea are having a poor season in the league and head coach Jose Mourinho is getting ready for a major squad overhaul for the 2016-17 season. There are also doubts over the future of star players like Eden Hazard who has barely replicated the form he has shown in Chelsea’s title winning 2015-16 season. Hazard on the other hand is speculated to be a transfer target of Real Madrid.

The 24-year old James Rodriguez is reported to be unhappy with life under Rafael Benitez and his agent Jorge Mendes is already looking for possible destinations for the player to force an exit at the end of the season. Chelsea’s rivals Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in the player along side oil rich French outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
