Chelsea vs Tottenham
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 22 February 2020
Kick-off at 12:30 UK / 13:30 CET
Venue: Stamford Bridge (London).
With Tottenham hot and cold in their outings this season, Chelsea are likely to dampen Jose Mourinho’s homecoming by depriving Spurs of the win.
Chelsea were handed a shock defeat at Stamford Bridge earlier this week by Manchester United who breezed past them with two unanswered goals to their name. The hosts were dreadful, to say the least, in the final third and miserably finished the ninety minutes with just one measly shot on target.
Frank Lampard’s men are now without a win in their past four games in the league and have garnered no more than two measly points from a possible twelve. As of now, the Blues are sitting fourth on the ladder, just one point ahead of their foes for the weekend.
On the other hand, Tottenham had their blushes saved after they came back from behind to post a narrow 3-2 victory over Aston Villa. The visitors looked almost certain to share the spoils in that latter matchup, as the scores read 2-2 at the end of regulation time.
However, Heung-Min Son ensured that all three points went their way by finding the winning goal in the stoppage time that followed. Spurs are now on a three-match winning streak and have admitted defeat just once in their past five games as well.
Be that as it may, the guests have not fared well in their previous visits to this stadium. With Frank Lampard’s men desperate to return to winning ways, Tottenham will have to brace themselves for a tough set of ninety minutes.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Prediction
The defeat to Manchester United was just Chelsea’s first defeat on home soil, since the start of the new year. Prior to that clash, they managed to hold to Arsenal to a 2-2 draw, and also pulled off an impressive 3-0 win over Burnley.
Meanwhile, to be frank, Tottenham have been a nervous bunch on the road. They have just one win to boast of from their past four outings in the league. To make matters worse, the visitors have secured the bragging rights just once in their visits to this stadium for nearly two decades.
Taking into account that the hosts breezed past this foe in the reverse fixture as well, Frank Lampard’s men are the favorites to pick up all three points in this one.
Furthermore, despite the poor string of results, it needs saying that Tottenham have not gone down without a fight. The guests have scored a goal or more in all but one of their previous six trips here.
Taking into account that Chelsea have conceded four goals from their past two clashes at home alone, count on Spurs to bag a consolation goal this week.
