Two English Premier League teams Chelsea and Liverpool FC meet at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Wednesday for the 2016 edition of International Champions Cup Friendly tournament.
Chelsea are coming into this game from their first win of the pre-season, they grabbed a 3-0 victory against Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC last Wednesday, at the Worthersee Stadion.
Betrand Traore scored the opening goal in the 41st minute of the game to put Chelsea in front, Ruben Loftus-Cheek later made it 2-0 in the 84th minute. While defender Nathaniel Chalobah sealed the Victory in the last minute of the game as Chelsea ran riot on their host.
The victory was the first win for Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager after loosing to 2-0 Rapid Wien in his debut game.
On the other hand, the Reds are unbeaten in their four friendly games so far this summer pre-season. Their latest Victory was a 2-0 smashing of Huddersfield Town AFC at John Smith’s Stadium last Wednesday. Marko Grujic gifted Liverpool the opening goal in the 31st minute of the game, the assist came from Roberto Firmino. Later on, Coutinho failed to convert a penalty as his spot kick was stopped by Joel Coleman. But Alberto Moreno later converty another spot kick to make it 2-0.
Klopp will use this high profile game to measure the progress of his team’s progress this summer pre-season.
