Chelsea vs Liverpool
England – Premier League
Date: Sunday, 22 September 2019
Kick-off at 16:30 UK / 17:30 CET
Venue: Stamford Bridge (London).
Chelsea have risen from the ashes of the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United back in their opening game and are unbeaten in their last four games in the Premier League. The hosts pulled off a thumping 5-2 victory in their previous clash on the road to Wolverhampton while at home, they picked a point off of Sheffield United in their 2-2 draw.
Liverpool have been putting nothing but their best foot forward in the domestic campaign and are towering above the rest of their counterparts with a hefty five-point lead. Jurgen Klopp’s men breezed past Newcastle in their last game at Anfield by a 3-1 scoreline, prior to which they made light work of Burnley in their previous outing with three unanswered goals to their name.
However both the teams will be coming into this Super Sunday matchup on the back of disappointing defeats in their respective European clashes. With the memories of the Super Cup defeat in Istanbul still fresh in the minds of the Chelsea faithful, will Lampard’s men avenge their agonizing loss or will Klopp’s army rub further salt into the Blues wounds with a sixth win in their campaign?
Chelsea vs Liverpool Head to head (h2h)

Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction
The home team have not been able to hit the ground running with a consistent winning form and have just two victories to boast of at the moment. The squad are yet to register their first win on home soil as well, having been forced to share the spoils in their last two games.
Nevertheless, the hosts have not lost against this foe in their previous two games here and will be banking on home advantage to put an end to Liverpool’s winning streak.
All of their previous head to head clashes at the Stamford Bridge have not failed to disappoint with goals. Seven of their last ten games here have seen both teams get their names on the scoresheet. Although a win for hosts seems dubious at this stage, the fact that Reds have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last five visits to this stadium certainly gives us reason to believe that Chelsea will be able to get their names on the scoresheet along with the visitors.
Furthermore, all three of the goals for Lampard’s men at home, have come in the opening forty-five minutes of the game. Taking into account that their last meeting here also saw the home team grab an early goal, count on Chelsea to find the back of the net before the break.
