Chelsea are rumored to be in talks with Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.
The former AC Milan striker is also linked with a move to Liverpool, but their manager Jurgen Klopp denied any approach for the player at the moment.
According to the latest reports by ESPN Brasil, the representatives of Chelsea are in talks with Pato’s agent Gilmar Veloz to reach an agreement to bring him to Premier League in January.
Chelsea head-coach Guus Hiddink has hinted that he would like to bring a new to cover for Diego Costa, who has scored just eight goals in all competitions this season.
Costa is the only reliable striking option for the Dutchman up-front as Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao have hardly contributed even when they are fully fit.
But according to the reports from Daily Star, Guus Hiddink may have to sell Remy if he is to bring in the £12million-rated Pato.
The publication also claim that Manchester United are interested in the 26-year old Corinthians striker.
Chelsea are currently 14th in the English Premier League and are 12 points below the fourth placed Tottenham.
In theory, the Blues still have a chance to finish inside the top four, but these will practically diminish if they keep throwing away leads like they did against Watford and West Brom.
Chelsea will host Everton in the match-day 22 of the English Premier League at Stamford Bridge this Saturday as they hope to extend their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions.
