Chelsea target £20m teenage striker in January

Chelsea have turned to 18-year-old Basel wonder kid Breel Embolo to boost their attacking front in January.

The Blues have struggled for goals in the English Premier League with the strikers in their ranks contributing just 7 goals all together this season.

According to the reports from Metro, Chelsea are keen on the Swiss teenage sensation, who burst into the scene through the ranks of Basel after scoring 16 goals in 47 appearances.

The brilliant form of the striker has attracted interests from the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Basel are holding out a £20million asking price for the striker who is equally adapted playing on the wings.

The future of strikers Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao has come under scrutiny in recent times after failing to make any impact in the first team.

Both are tipped to depart the club in January as Remy is wanted by a number of Premier League sides and Falcao could cut short his loan spell and return to Monaco.

On the other hand, £20m is a hefty fee for an unproven youngster, but the competition for his signature plays it straight into the hands of Basel, who may end-up getting the proposed sum.
