At Chelsea the relationship between Jose Mourinho and many of his star players are slowly deteriorating. The negative gesture from Diego Costa from the sidelines last weekend is an understatement of what is going on behind the curtains at the Stamford Bridge.
From a sporting point of view, Chelsea’s 0: 0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur could be considered as a success in the times of crisis. But the head coach is extremely frustrated at the lack of commitment on field of some of the players.
Even though the Portuguese manager wasted no time in insisting that he has no problems with the Brazil born Spanish striker. But this is when the British press do what they do best; they speculated diligently about which players might end up at Stamford Bridge in the future to bring the ship back to shore.
And then the Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday that Blues are very much interested in Thomas Müller of Bayern Munich. “Costa could be replaced by the German superstar in the summer.”
The Blues may well be interested, but the Bavarians already have a plan to keep the Premier League clubs at bay. Their primary objective is to extend Muller’s contract till 2019 expiring with a substantially improved contract.
The head officials at Bayern are deeply worried about the speculations connecting their star player with Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United. They also fear if the German international may hand in a transfer request after his recent media comments.
Whatever be the situation of Muller at Munich, Chelsea is likely to have significantly lower odds than Manchester United.
Costa future at Chelsea remains a doubt on the back of Sunday’s incident coupled with his poor form this season. Let’s forget Muller, Chelsea already has a list of players as his replacement when the transfer window opens in January.
Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, West Brom’s Saido Berahino, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira are all in their radar.
There are also fresh rumors on a 60 million euro bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in January. The list doesn’t end here – ex-Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain who wears the colors of Napoli nowadays is reported to be a prime target, even-though he will be only available at the end of the current season.
According to experienced Football Pundit Rob Shepeard, Diego Costa could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after another clash with Jose Mourinho. The sports writer suggested that the Blues could be in the market for another striker with Harry Kane a potential target. Full Video from excerpts of his talk with TipTvSport can be found below.
