Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a big-money transfer move for Paris Saint-Germain center defender Thiago Silva.
According to the report by TuttoMercatoWeb, Chelsea have to wait until next season for the player as the French outfit will not let their key player leave in the middle of the season.
The defending Premier League champions are keen on fresh blood in their defensive department and are strongly linked with a move for Everton center back John Stones.
The Blues were put off by the Everton’s high asking price for the 21 year-old England international and reportedly turned their attention to Silva.
Thiago Silva is already 31-years old and comes with abundant experience in Europe after winning a number of titles in Italy and France.
However, if Chelsea are to get him they should table a massive bid for the player who has been prominent member in the PSG squad over the past three seasons.
The publication also claims that Chelsea officials have already made initial contacts with the Ligue One side to enquire about the availability of the Brazil international.
Silva moved to PSG from AC Milan in 2012-13 season for a transfer fee rumoured to be around €42 million, making him the most expensive defender in football history.
