Celtic vs Kilmarnock
Date: Sunday, 13 December 2020
Kick-Off at 15.00 UK
Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow.
Celtic are trailing 13 points behind Premiership pace-setters Rangers with two games in hand, desperate for points as they host Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon. They have struggled for consistency across competitions but finally returned to the winning ways as they denied Lille (3-2) on Thursday, saying their farewell to Europa League in good spirits.
Bhoys failed to turn a game their way in five outings beforehand, seeing three losses and two draws along the way. They’ve been conceding goals and Neil Lennon hasn’t been able to find a cure for their woes at the back, but the attacking line has been delivering and will want more of the same at Celtic Park.
Kilmarnock saw a winning streak of three ended in a 1-0 loss at Hamilton Academical last week, failing to build on a more exciting win over Ross County (3-1) at home ground. They have struggled for goal scoring consistency on the road in general but will now have open spaces to explore and we hope the visitors will make this a solid challenge too!
Celtic vs Kilmarnock Head-to-head
- Kilmarnock held Celtic to a 1-1 draw as they sides last met in early August.
- Celtic bagged six wins in a row in head-to-head clashes beforehand.
- We’ve seen goals on both ends in all of the last four occasions and we’re now going for more in a row despite Bhoys being rated heavy favourites.
Celtic vs Kilmarnock Prediction
Indeed, Celtic should have what it takes to bag the important points and we will back them to do so. However, we don’t see it as smooth sailing despite a mid-week pick-me-up and we’ll now back the Bhoys to win and a YES on Both teams to score, which combines to a good-looking 2.75!
With that in mind, we’re making a case for another high-scoring occasion at Celtic Park after seeing five goals on Thursday. We will go for Over 2.5 Goals FT and follow in the steps of many heavy hitters who have been lumping at 1.53. We have been used to goals between the sides and it’s hard to expect anything but at this point.
