Celta Vigo vs Leganes:
2016/17 Spanish La Liga
Date: Monday, 22, August 2016.
Venue: Balaidos (Vigo).
Club Deportivo Leganes start their first ever season in Spanish La Liga with a home game against Celta Vigo on Monday evening, 22 August 2016.
Leganes finished second in the Segunda Division last season with a point behind champions Alaves to earn their first ever ticket to Spain’s top flight football league. Asier Garitano, who is the head-coach of the club since 2013 has a busy summer in the transfer market brining in around 11 new faces. Ex-Levante defender Carl Medjani and Unai Lopez on loan from Bilbao are some excellent captures as they fight to avoid relegation this season.
Celta Vigo finished sixth in the La Liga table last season and qualified for the Europa League group stages. They might have already set their sights on a top four finish this season. However their ambitions could be rather difficult to achieve as their is room for only one team inside the top four as Barcelona and the two Madrid giants are almost certain to occupy the first three.

This is the first ever meeting between Celta Vigo and Leganes in a competitive match.
Celta Vigo vs Leganes: Prediction
Celta Vigo had a strong record at home last season, losing just four times from their 19 matches. The majority of their success last season depend upon their high pressing game and quick counter attacks. And it will be interesting to see how they cope with a team like Leganes who like to sit deep and defend.
The hosts will dominate possession and therefore will create a number of scoring chances. But the first games of the season against a newly promoted side is always tricky, so only expect Celta to edge a win here.
Therefore under 2.5 goals look a worthy bet for me. I will also go with the correct score prediction of a 1-0 win for Celta at full time.
Celta Vigo vs Leganes: Tips
Under 2.5 goals at 2.05
Celta to win at 1.60.
