Canada vs Cuba
CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019
Date: Sunday, 23rd June 2019
Kick off at 23:00 UK / 00:00 CET
Venue: Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte).
Despite the Canadians kicking off their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign with a dream start, their second group fixture turned bitter for them after they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of their opponents Mexico. The squad will be hoping to turn things around really quickly when they take on Cuba at the Bank of America Stadium, on Sunday, in their third group match.
John Herdman’s side were certainly optimistic when they went into their previous clash with the Mexicans. The latter broke the deadlock through Roberto Alvarado, before the teams went into the break, and doubled their lead ten minutes after the restart with Andres Guardado finding the back of the net. Lucas Cavalini did manage to pull one back for his team, but the hopes for a comeback lasted not more than a few minutes, with Guardado clinically completing his brace.
Cuba were far from impressive in their previous match, succumbing to a 3-0 loss to Martinique and finishing the game with ten men after Erick Rizo picked up a second yellow in the last ten minutes. The squad managed to create very few chances in the final third and finished the game with just three shots on target.
They have currently hit rock bottom in the group with zero wins while Canada are in second position, level on points with Martinique.

Canada vs Cuba Prediction
A win for Cuba against the Canadians on Sunday is pretty much out of the question.
With five straight losses in all competitions, Raul Medero’s men have been struggling to go back to winning ways for quite a while. It has also been quite some time since his side managed to get their name on their score sheet, having failed to find the back of the net in any of their four previous matches.
John Herdman’s side were outclassed by the Mexicans in their previous clash and will be definitely eyeing the opportunity to redeem themselves. Barring the recent loss, his squad have been very impressive in previous matches, opening up the possibility for a win against their counterparts on Sunday.
The latter are unlikely to find the back of the net while the win, the three points and a possible clean sheet is likely to swing in favour of the Canadians.
