Cagliari vs Inter Milan-Italian Serie A-LeagueLane Predictions

Cagliari vs Inter Milan
Italy – Serie A
Date: Sunday, 01 September 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Sardegna Arena (Cagliari).

‘The Sardi’ suffered a surprising home defeat at the hands of Brescia in the season opener. Guests were a better side for an hour, had two goals disallowed before VAR jumped in and highlighted Cerri’s handling offence. Referee Eugenio Abbattista pointed to the spot and Alberto Donnarumma sent Rafael the wrong way. Cagliari went all-out attack in search of an equaliser but to no avail.

Inter got their domestic campaign off to a perfect start with a 4-0 win over Lecce. Conte’s Icardi-less Inter looks strong and dangerous in 3-5-2 formation with Lukaku and Martinez up front, and they are all-set to challenge Juventus and Napoli for the Scudetto this season.

Romelu Lukaku got the goal on his debut, just like Stefano Sensi, and even Antonio Candreva bagged one after long dry spell.

Cagliari vs Inter Milan: Head to Head

Overall stats: Cagliari 7 wins, Inter 22 wins, 14 draws.

We have seen at least three goals in eight out of ten last games between these two clubs.

Seven of the last ten encounters saw both teams finding the back of the net.

Inter have scored at least two goals in four of the last five matches against Cagliari.

Cagliari vs Inter Milan: Prediction

Cagliari made some off-season moves that should ensure them a safe mid-table finish. With couple of intriguing signings (Nandez, Rog) and with Radja Nainggolan back in the team, ‘The Sardi’ should bounce back from a disappointing loss to Brescia, but I can’t see them repeating last season’s success against Inter, or even getting a point on Sunday.

Inter used Juventus’ winning recipe and got Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte. The Italian tactician knows how to motivate players and I expect them to get another three points at Sardegna Arena. As an alternative bet, I’ll go with over 2.5 goals.

Cagliari vs Inter Milan Bet Tips

  • Inter to win @ 1.66
