Caen vs Monaco Preview and Predictions

Aron Wright - May 3, 2018

Caen vs Monaco
France – Ligue 1
Date: Sunday, 6th May 2018
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Stade Michel d’Ornano (Caen).

Caen on 37 points should be safe but they are not if the teams directly below them can group together a batch of wins. The club have been in very poor form where they have no wins in almost 8 weeks. It doesn’t get easier for the team as they will now have to face one of the best in the league in Monaco.

Caen’s home form is better with just 1 loss in their past five games but their games here have been dogged by draws. Having said that the club would accept a draw at the weekend.

Monaco are experiencing perhaps their worst form of the season and what a time to have it. They have seen an automatic Champions League qualification place go up in smoke as Lyon have passed them. 3rd place gives them a playoff place but on current form they could slip out to 4th place with Marseille right behind them.

Monaco have not won a game in 3 matches and have just 1 win in their past five games. This is a must win game for them as they have conceded 10 goals in their last 2 away games. The rumour is that coach Louis Jardim is leaving the club and this has angered many first team players and affected their emotions on the pitch.

Caen vs Monaco: Prediction

Surely we will see a response from Monaco after a dreadful run, but we cannot trust them to do so. So our main bet will be to see more goals as the game goes on.
