Burnley made a solid start to the 2018/19 campaign with their success in the Europa League qualifiers. The team that got promoted to the Premier League two seasons ago has now made it to the continental competition’s play-offs by defeating Aberdeen and Istanbul Basaksehir.
Home form once again played a key role in the Clarets ‘ European success and they will have their eyes set on first Premier League win of the season in the first league match at the Turf Moor.
Last week saw Sean Dyche’s men returning from Southampton with a point from a goal-less draw. Burnley had the best chances and they did dominate the major portion of the game only to be denied on numerous occasions by the man of the match and Saints’ goal keeper Alex McCarthy.
Watford meantime, made a confident start to their season with a 2-0 win at the Vicarage Road against Brighton. Javi Gracia, in his full-season as the team’s manager will be happy with how it went last week after his team dominated every area of play.
However, the Spanish coach needs to improve the team’s away performances, which has been their achilles heel over the past three seasons. Watford is the team with lowest win ration on the road during the period as well lost the highest number of games.

Burnley vs Watford Prediction
Burnley easily qualify as the most improved side of last season’s English Premier League and they seem to have gone a step high with the performance at Europa League qualifiers this season.
The Turf Moor is their fortress and a bad record here rings the bells of caution for visiting Hornets.
If you look at Watford’s away record in three seasons since promotion, you know where to put your money in this fixture. A total of 36 defeats from 57 games during the period and losing 10 of their last 11 away games last season make us shoot for a home win with confidence here.
