Burnley vs Fulham
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 12 January 2019
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Turf Moor (Burnley).
Burnley look to have finally found the winning formula as they picked up three victories on the spin in all competitions.
Sean Dyche’s men escaped the red zone thanks to a pair of wins over West Ham United (2-0) and Huddersfield Town (1-2). They backed the run up with the FA Cup success against a Championship outfit Barnsley (1-0) seven days ago.
Clarets have a nice opportunity to keep the hot spell of form going on Saturday afternoon when penultimate-placed Fulham come to visit Turf Moor.
The Cottagers have been struggling badly to adjust to the top flight football ever since the season began. They made a managerial change recently hiring Claudio Ranieri as the new head coach.
The Italian did make a bright start with a 3-2 win over Southampton at Craven Cottage, but the team quickly returned to the old habits and will come into this off the back of two straight defeats.
They fell 4-1 to Arsenal in the previous Premier League Matchday, while last weekend saw a shocking home defeat to a League Two opposition Oldham Athletic (1-2) in the FA Cup.
Burnley vs Fulham: Head-to-head
Burnley will rely on the head to head tradition here as they lead the H2H tie by 9 wins coming into the 39th encounter with the Cottagers.
Fulham, however, celebrated one of league’s three wins just against Clarets, 4-2 back in late-August.
At least four goals were seen in all of last three head to head encounters between these two sides.
Burnley won as many as 15, drew 3 and lost just 1 of 19 home matches against Fulham.
Burnley vs Fulham: Prediction
Sean Dyche’s men significantly improved their defensive efforts of late. They are looking great coming into this clash with the struggling opposition. Knowing the head to head record also works firmly in Burnley’s favour, the home win is the only logical betting option here.
Fulham took only two points from nine away fixtures this term. They conceded as many as 28 goals in the process (more than three per game). The home win or draw double chance at 1.40 is ideal for those who prefer safer options.
