Brest vs Toulouse
France Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, 10th August 2019
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade Francis- Le Ble.
Brest are back in Ligue 1 and they will be aiming to put the points on the board as soon as possible. Against Toulouse at home in theory they could start the season with a win and one thinks the players will really be up for this game in front of the fans which should be a packed out stadium.
The club have spent 4m so far acquiring Romain Perraud from Nice and Ibrahima Diallo from Monaco, other players have come on a free transfer. Of course if Brest were to finish 17th they might just take that to survive a season but the club will have aspirations to finish higher and enjoy themselves in the league.
Toulouse have raised 15m finally confirming the sale of Andy Delort and have also sold Christopher Jullien for 8m to Celtic. But what has been fair on the club is that they have reinvested 14m back into buying players headed by Wesley Said from Dijon who comes in for 8m.
The problem for Toulouse last season was the amount of draws they were getting and they remain a team with the threat of relegation over them, this season they can change that but it will be a tough ask.
Brest vs Toulouse: Head to Head
The teams have not met since 2013 when Toulouse won 1-0 at Brest.

Brest vs Toulouse: Prediction
Brest are in for a difficult season and if they are to survive they will have to pick up points at home. Toulouse and the quality within the team is still under question and we won’t know more about if their players gel until a few more weeks.
This is why we will back the young, hungry Brest to get the win. It is with some risk because on paper Toulouse have the stronger side, but they are not a good away team and this could count in Brest’s favour but only if they can control the pace of the game, the crowd should be able to help their team with a good atmosphere in this opening match.
