Brest vs Lille
France – Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 14th March 2020
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade Francis- Le Ble (Brest)
Brest are best at home and that has been evident on quite a few occasions this season. Having said this they did lose their last home game 1-0 to Angers but that was only their 2nd of the season and it could well be the clubs home form that keeps them up this season.
Brest are in 14th and seven points clear of the drop and it would take a big collapse now for the club to go down. One suspects that they will start to be able to enjoy their football, now that they look safe. Recent form is not good with back to bac losses and they have just one win in their past five games.
Lille are still chasing Rennes for 3rd place and keep on winning and are one of the best in form sides in the league. They have won their last 3 games in a row, with two of those being at home but the club made a good statement when they beat Lyon last weekend. They are just 1 point behind Rennes, they are also 8 points clear of 5th place, going into this weekend but that can change very quickly.
Brest vs Lille: Head to Head
Lille have won the last 3 meetings between the sides.
The last time the clubs played at Brest was back in 2013 when Lille won 2-1.
The clubs have played each other seven times in the recent era and Brest has just 1 win.
Brest vs Lille: Prediction
Our thoughts are that Brest can relax and try to play football whilst Lille need to try and win and will have much more motivation to do so.
Football comes down to hunger and desire to win games and we just don’t feel we will see that 100% with the home side, Lille need it as it could be the difference of playing Champions League football next season.
Lille have only won 4 games away from home this season but what is important is that they have won their last 3 in a row.
We picked out Loic Remy last weekend to score and he did and we think the striker will be ready for this game too.
