Brest vs Bordeaux
French Ligue 1
Date: Sunday 7th February 2021
Kick off at 13:00 UK/ 14:00 CET
Venue: Stade Francis Le-Ble (Brest).
Brest are 8 points clear of the bottom three but will have to start winning games otherwise it will be normal for the side to face a battle to stay up. The club have earned just 1 point from their last 15.
In midweek Brest drew 2-2 in an entertaining game with Strasbourg and that stopped 4 defeats in a row and now they return back home where they seem to perform better.
However it hasn’t been all plain-sailing for the club and they have lost their last 2 home games in a row. Those defeats came against Metz and Rennes and the club conceded six goals in two games.
Bordeaux were on a revival and had climbed up the table but a week is a long time in football and the club have now lost 2 games in a row. Last weekend they lost to Lyon and in midweek they were beaten at home to Lille 3-0.
The problem for Bordeaux is that they have had to face the top 2 sides currently in Ligue 1 and if they can get past that they can remain confident for this game and try to get back to winning ways.

Brest vs Bordeaux: Prediction
In the league Brest have struggled to beat Bordeaux when at home and the game have usually ended up as draws. We expect a close match again.
Both clubs are better than their recent form suggests and this is a game about getting back to basics one would think. This is why we expect a slow start and will back the draw at half time, we also think if goals happen it could occur more in the 2nd half.
The main reason for this is both teams will take time to feel their way in the game and it could be quite tense, this is an encounter that could easily see the sides share the points and there is no favourite here.
