Brentford vs Queens Park Rangers
England – Championship
Date: Saturday, 21 April 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Griffin Park (Brentford).
Brentford extended the positive run to six matches without a defeat in the Championship when the substitute forward Neal Maupay made it all square at Craven Cottage denying Fulham a much-important three-pointer. The Bees were on a streak of three straight wins before the clash with the Cottagers.
Such form helped Dean Smith’s men come to only four-point distance from the playoffs spots. Can the Bees keep the hot run of form going and see off non-motivated Queens Park Rangers when they clash each other at Griffin Park? The visitors have been playing hot and cold throughout the entire season. They won two and lost three of last five matches in the league conceding at least twice in each of last three games.
Away from home, the Hoops lost two in a row with a disappointing 0-5 goal difference. QPR will face hard times scoring a goal here given that Brentford have been very tough to break down of late.
Brentford and Queens Park Rangers were pretty inspired in the final third in the most recent set of their head to head encounters.
Each of last three saw at least four goals and both teams on the scoresheet.
The Hoops defeated Brentford just one in five visits to Griffin Park.
The Bees are indeed on an excellent streak overall , but their home record was anything but impressive in the last month. Dena Smyth’s side won just one of last four league matches at Griffin Park. With that in mind, and the fact the Bees only won two of five home matches against QPR over the history, it’s really hard to notice the value in the 1.53 odds offered for the home win pick here.
Yes, the match is much more important for the hosts and QPR are poor travellers, but we must note that the Hoops came undefeated from places like Villa Park and Craven Cottage in March. We’ll thus be brave enough and shoot for the draw or away win double chance at the 2.60 odds.
Alternatively, Brentford to score less than two goals is worth backing at the odds of 2.40 as the hosts did not produce more than once up front in any of last eight league affairs.
Queens Park Rangers or Draw Double Chance @ 2.60
Brentford Under 1.5 Team Goals @ 2.40
