Brazil vs Chile
World Cup Qualifiers – South America
Date: Wednesday, 11th October 2017
Kick-off at 0:30 UK/ 1:30 CET
Venue: Allianz Parque (Sao Paulo).
Alexis Sanchez bagged a golden goal for Chile five minutes from time to secure three massive points against Ecuador.
The victory saw La Roja climb up to the third position in the South American WC Qualification standings, but their destiny still depends on the last round’s fixtures set to be played on Tuesday evening across the continent.
Selecao were among the first teams to secure the appearance at the World Cup in Russia as they literally cruised past their opponents in this qualifying term.
The lack of motivation caused Tite’s men to fail to find the back of the net in the previous fixture with Bolivia on Thursday evening (goalless draw) even though both Neymar and Gabriel Jesus featured the match.
La Roja have failed to find the target in three consecutive fixtures before the mentioned 2-1 victory over Ecuador.
The visitors will be safe with the draw here, while the potential defeat and a draw in the clash between Peru and Colombia could see them dropping out of the top five positions.
Brazil vs Chile: Head to head
The Brazilians have been completely dominant in the history of head to head meetings with Chile who only managed to beat Selecao twice in 22 matches.
However, one of the victories came in their previous meeting, back at the start of the qualifying term two years ago when Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez notched goals in a 2-0 win at Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos.
Brazil vs Chile: Prediction
Even though both teams have strong options in the final third, we don’t see a high-scoring contest here.
The Chileans will sit carefully at the back waiting for their chances from counters attacks as they can’t allow a defeat.
