Brazil vs Argentina
Date: Tuesday, 16 October 2018
Kick-Off at 19:00 UK / 20:00 CET
Venue: King Abdullah Sports City Reserve Stadium (Jeddah).
King Abdullah Sports City Reserve Stadium in Jeddah will have the honour of playing host to the new Superclasico between Brazil and Argentina. A real buzz is thus expected in and around the venue on Tuesday night when South American big guns take on each other in a friendly affair.
Tite will be much more optim9stic of two managers coming into the game. The Brazilian expert will have a way stronger squad on disposal, featuring his main stars Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Coutinho.
His colleague on the other side is without a host of high-profile names, including Barcelona’s Lionel Messi who is not with the team at the moment. Lionel Sebastian Scaloni is, however, yet to see his men concede a goal ever since taking charge after the World Cup debacle. Los Gauchos eased past Guatemala and Iraq netting seven goals in the process, while they drew 0-0 to Colombia in the meantime (the record under Scaloni).
Brazil vs Argentina: Head-to-head
Brazil were much more successful in the most recent head to head history with Los Gauchos.
Selecao won 17, drew 7 and lost 7 of last 31 meetings with Argentina.
Brazil took four points from two WC Qualification games against Argentina (3-0 win at home and a 1-1 draw away).
Los Gauchos came on top 0-1 when teams took on each other in a friendly in June last year (Brazil sent out a mixed line-up back then).
Brazil vs Argentina: Prediction
Scaloni’s star-free squad did well netting four past Iraq on Thursday evening. Lautaro Martinez, Roberto Pereyra, German Pezzella and Franco Cervi were on the scoreline on the occasion. Such win will obviously count for little when La Albiceleste come face to face bit bitter rivals Brazil who come into this as massive favourites.
Neymar has been enjoying a phenomenal form this season with PSG. He provided two assists in a 0-2 victory over Saudi Arabia on Friday and we expect him to guide Selecao to success against such Argentine team.
Apart from Brazil’s win, we will go for the Under 2.5 goals FT bet at 1.80 knowing that Argentines were tough to break down under Scaloni of late.
