Bray Wanderers vs Sligo Rovers
Irish Premier Division
Date: Sunday, 8 July 2018
Kick-Off at 16:00 UK / 17:00 CET
Venue: Carlisle Grounds, Bray.
The lone clash for the day in the Irish Premier Division will be played at Carlisle Ground where the rock-bottomed Wanderers will play host to Sligo Rovers. It will indeed be a low-profile contest between two struggling sides and one of the last trains to catch for the Seagulls if they still even think of a chance to save the elite class status for the next season.
It has been a dreadful campaign so far for the hosts who only took 12 points from 24 games. It is only enough for the very foot of the Premier Division standings as Bray Wanderers sit as many as nine points behind the penultimate-placed Limerick.
The Bit o’Red, on the other side, stand just two points above Limerick who hold the position which leads to the relegation play-offs at the end of the season. They come into this low on confidence after falling 2-3 at home to Waterford last weekend.
The light at the end of the tunnel is nowhere to be seen for the Seagulls who are a perfect opposition for the visitors to bounce back after the aforementioned home loss to Waterford. Sligo Rovers did well in most recent travels beating both Derry City and St. Patrick’s Athl. with an impressive 5-0 goal difference combined.
Overall, the away win looks to be a banker call at the 1.66 odds based on everything written above. Since Bray have by far the league’s weakest defensive line which shipped as many as 60 goals in 24 games so far, we find a huge value in backing the Bit o’Red to net two or more goals in the match at the odds of 1.91.
