Bournemouth vs Manchester United
English Premier League
Date: 20 May 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Vitality Stadium (Bournemouth).
Manchester United will be looking to make another big step towards the top-four finish on Saturday afternoon when they visit Vitality Stadium for the Matchday No 37 clash against Bournemouth.
The Cherries have already secured the top-flight survival and have nothing but pride left to play for in the remaining two outings.
They have also lost three of the previous four home matches in the league which is why we really fancy the visitors here.
Bournemouth did not impress at all last weekend when they fell 2-0 away at Crystal Palace.
The Cherries were completely outplayed by the rivals at the Selhurst Park, failing to register a single shot on goal in the 90 minutes of action seven days ago.
Knowing that Manchester United looked rock-solid defensively in their 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend at the Old Trafford, we have more reasons to expect another clean sheet for Erik ten Hag’s troops.
The Red Devils are one point above Liverpool in fifth place and they have a match in hand on Jurgen Klopp’s side. Only a miracle can prevent them from playing the Champions League football with the fixtures against Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Fulham upcoming by the end of the season.
On another note, though, United are winless in five consecutive away games in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat at Sevilla in the Europa League and successive Premier League losses (1-0 each) to Brighton and West Ham.
Bournemouth vs Manchester United Head-to-head
- Manchester United have been the dominant force in the history of this matchup with 8 wins, 1 draw, and only 2 losses in the last 11 clashes against the Cherries.
- The Red Devils have bagged at least three goals in three of the previous four encounters with Bournemouth.
- We’ve seen three or more goals in four of the previous five head to head matches between these rivals.
Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction
Bournemouth did not offer much offensively at all last weekend at Crystal Palace. They have also lost three of the last four home matches in the league.
We expect the visitors to control the happenings on the pitch from the start to the end and we will back the Red Devils to have the lead at the half time and win the game at the 2.30 odds. Alternatively, the away win to nil is paid at the 2.75 odds.
