Bologna vs Verona
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 15 April 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall’Ara (Turin).
Bologna will want to turn this around after a loss to Crotone last round, and the Rossoblu will have a great chance to achieve just that as they face Verona.
Although Verona come into this game having narrowly beaten Cagliari last round, they are not out of the drop zone. They sit two points from safety but their survival chances were dealt a huge blow by losing 3-0 to Benevento on the road. Overall, the Gialloblu have one of the worst away records in the league, with just two wins so far – although one of those wins saw them pick up a surprise 4-1 result over Fiorentina, so they should not be underestimated, either.
As for Bologna, they are sitting in 12th spot, so are in no real danger of relegation. In short, Roberto Donadoni, who is highly expected to depart, is in a decent enough position, but certainly they will be trying to push to finish in the top half of the table. Despite coming into this game having lost to Crotone, Bologna have been solid enough at home, notably holding both Inter and most recently Roma to draws here, so Verona should present a much easier opponent – on paper at least.
Not only do Verona struggle to score on the road, with just 13 netted in their last 15, but their leaky defense is costing them dearly, as they have conceded a whopping 32 on the road (62 in total). This has seen their plans to try to park the bus and grind out a point fall apart time and time again as they have shipped two or more goals in over half of their away games. That includes two 3-0 consecutive losses to Benevento and Inter recently.
Bologna vs Verona: Head-to-head statistics

Bologna vs Verona: Prediction
On paper at least this looks to be a great game for Bologna, as they will want to restore some pride and confidence after their loss to Crotone last week. Verona have shipped three goals in their last two away games, and that includes a loss to bottom-ranked Benevento. Still, Bologna can’t underestimate Verona, who are fighting for survival – and notably did beat Fiorentina this season – and that could actually spur them on to pick up at least a point.
