Bologna vs Sampdoria Predictions Italian Serie A by LeagueLane

Bologna vs Sampdoria
Italy – Serie A
Date: Sunday, 27 October 2019
Kick-off at 11:30 UK / 12:30 CET
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

I’m convinced we will have an entertaining affair on Sunday. Both sides have decent players in the attacking department, and it looks like Sampdoria will shift back to 4-3-1-2 formation that worked wonders under Marco Giampaolo.

Bologna vs Sampdoria: Prediction

With two wins, three draws and three losses to date, Bologna are currently 13th in the Serie A standings, levelled on points with Verona. The Veltri stretched their winless run to five games after last week’s defeat away to Juventus. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men are heading back home, where they played only three games so far, to host last-placed Sampdoria.

Bologna will be without injured trio – Medel, Tomiyasu, Destro, whilst Dijks is questionable.

Sampdoria are 20th with the win-draw-lose record of 1-1-6 and -12 goal difference. They’re one point behind their arch rivals Genoa and two behind SPAL and Sassuolo. The Blucerchiati ended their losing streak with a goalless draw against Roma in the previous round. Claudio Ranieri’s team did fairly well on his debut and almost nicked a last-minute win, but Olsen stopped an effort from Bonazzoli.

Seculin and Linetty are on the treatment table and won’t make the trip.

Bologna (1-1-1 at home) have an average of 2.63 goals on their games. They’re scoring and conceding the same numbers at Renato Dall’Ara stadium – 1.33 goals per bout. Two of three games played at this venue had over 2.5 goals. Without Destro, veteran striker Rodrigo Palacio is projected to start as a lone striker in 4-2-3-1 formation.

The Blucerchiati have 0-0-4 record away from home. They have an average of 0.50 goals scored per game on their travels, whilst conceding 2.5 per tie. They have conceded at least two goals in each of their games on the road.

I am convinced we’ll have an entertaining affair on Sunday. Both sides have some decent players and it looks like Sampdoria will shift back to 4-3-1-2 formation that worked wonders under Marco Giampaolo.

Head-to-head firmly supports hosts to bag at least two here, that will be my main bet, and I’ll take over 2.5 as well because I do expect Samp to fight back this time.
