Bologna vs Chievo Preview and Predictions

Bologna vs Chievo Italian Serie A Prediction 13th May 2018

Bologna vs Chievo
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 13 May 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall’Ara (Bologna).

Chievo are in the fight to avoid the drop, although one can be hardly surprised. The Flying Donkeys have been in awful form for most of the season and have paid the price for their complacency as a result. They do come into this game having won recently but that was a desperate attempt against Crotone, which ended a six game streak sans a win.

The Flying Donkeys will be desperate to stay in Serie A, but there are plenty of sides who will be hoping to do the same. Bologna meanwhile aren’t totally safe, as they’re six points clear of the bottom three, but still will need all five teams below them to suddenly kick to life for them to be sucked back down. Both Benevento and Hellas Verona have already been relegated. All the Rossoblu need to do is to win and they will definitely be safe, whilst Chievo could be sent packing to Serie B with a loss.

Chievo’s away form has been nothing short of awful. They have lost 10 of their last 11 and although they’ve changed managers, Bologna have been solid enough at home, so they should be able to take advantage of the Flying Donkeys’ misery and send them back down into the drop zone whilst further pulling away from the drop zone.

Bologna vs Chievo: Head-to-head statistics

Bologna are unbeaten in the last four head-to-head meetings with Chievo with wins in the most recent 2 followed by two draws.

The reverse of the corresponding fixture is a 3-2 win for Roberto Donadoni’s team.

Both teams have scored in their last three league meetings.

Chievo had little success in visits to Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as they managed just 2 wins from the last 13 games here, drew 4 and lost 7.

Bologna vs Chievo: Prediction

Chievo have lost 12 of their last 18 away games, including 10 of their last 11. Although Bologna have struggled as they have failed to win their last four, in all fairness they have taken on teams like AC Milan and of course Juventus. They did manage to lead Juve at half-time before collapsing, and they beat Hellas Verona at home here, so they should be able to take advantage of Chievo’s bad form to pick up three points.
