Blackburn vs Preston
Date: Saturday, 9 March 2019
Kick-Off at 12:00 UK / 13:00 CET
Venue: Ewood Park (Blackburn).
Blackburn announced a potential challenge for the promotional play-offs with a strong spell of form at the start of the year, but they saw a massive slump in the last couple of weeks. The Riversiders took only one point from past five league rounds and they fell down to 17th place in the standings as a result.
The main problem for Tony Mowbray’s men is the lack of meticulousness in the defensive line. Blackburn Rovers have been very easy to break down of late. They shipped as many as five goals in last two league affairs against Birmingham City and Rotherham United.
Mowbray’s troops actually had a fairly easy schedule with matches against the likes of Reading and Rotherham of late, but got away empty-handed. This is why it is hard to see them bounce back in the first game of Saturday’s Championship program against Preston North End.
Blackburn vs Preston: Head-to-head
The head to head stats completely favour the visitors here.,
Preston lead the tie by 10 wins ahead of 53rd meeting with the Riversiders.
The Lilywhites won three and drew one of past four ties against Blackburn Rovers.
Each of last five H2H games saw the Over 2.5 goals FT & BTTS option coming.
Blackburn vs Preston: Prediction
The story is completely opposite with the visitors who head into this as heavy form favourites. They are unbeaten in last nine league outings, a streak which brought them up to 12th place in the league ladder.
The Lilywhites won three and drew two of last five Championship fixtures. They are now just six points short of the promotional play-offs. The match against out-of-form Blackburn will certainly provide a nice chance for the visitors to maintain their fine run.
Preston won four on the spin away from home netting at least two goals in each of games along the way.
