Birmingham City have grabbed themselves a massive survival lifeline by winning three on the bounce in the Championship. The Blues are now five points off the danger area and they will have a fantastic opportunity to keep the hot run of form going and grab another three-pointer on Saturday when they host fellow strugglers Burton Albion.
The Brewers are in a much tougher position as they sit down at the very foot of the Championship standings ahead of the trip to St. Andrew’s. This is obviously the last train to catch for Nigel Clough and his men who are eight points short of the safe zone spot, currently held just by their counterparts Birmingham City.
Nonetheless, there is not much that would suggest a success for the Brewers here. The visitors have lost five and drawn two of last seven league outings. In Clough’s defense, his team was amid a super tough schedule as they’ve played the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough in the last three rounds. The draw with Boro away at Riverside will certainly be encouraging for Burton Albion ahead of the clash with the Blues. Scoring a goal will be the main challenge for the visitors since Birmingham head into this off the back of three consecutive clean sheets.

The head to head tie entirely favours Burton Albion who have won five out of six meetings with Birmingham.
The Blues have, however, come on top in the previous meeting, beating the Brewers 1-0 in the FA Cup earlier this year.

Burton Albion should park the bus and try and do something from the counter attacks. They will head into this encouraged with the 1-1 draw at Riverside.
Given that the Blues have been fantastic defensively of late, backing a low-scoring contest is just the way to go here for us.
