Benevento will hope to use their home advantage to the max as they take on fellow relegation candidates Hellas Verona on Sunday.
Although Le Streghe have just ten points so far, all of these have been at home. It’s been a miserable debut campaign for Benevento, who have yet to win an away fixture, but for now, they certainly will be focused on doing their utmost best to close the gap between themselves and their fellow relegation candidates as they aim to emulate Crotone and launch a very late bid to avoid the drop.
Hellas Verona, by contrast, are just two points away from the drop after beating Torino last weekend. They have struggled on the road, with losses in eight of their 13 away fixtures, but did pull off a shock win over Fiorentina in which they managed to score four goals.
Benevento notably beat Crotone 3-2 here and Sampdoria by the same score-line, as well as Chievo. They also managed a late, late equaliser against AC Milan to earn their first ever point, and since the end of December, only Napoli has been able to actually win here. That will give them even more confidence as they prepare to take on Verona, who prior to their upset of Fiorentina, had won just one away game all season.

Despite both facing the drop, this actually could be a real entertaining affair. Benevento will be backed full force by their home fans to pick up what would be their fourth win, and they certainly will feel they can do it, especially against another relegation candidate. Last weekend was a bad one for Le Streghe, as both SPAL and Hellas Verona won and they lost. They certainly will not want to give up anything here and could take advantage of Verona’s less than strong traveling form to pick up a much needed win.
