Benevento vs Juventus
Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday, 7 April 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Ciro Vigorito (Benevento).
With their Champions League hopes now in tatters, Juventus will certainly take out their frustrations as they travel to face bottom-placed Benevento on Saturday afternoon.
La Vecchia Signora’s long-standing unbeaten home record in European competition came to an abrupt end on Tuesday, as they were humiliated 3-0 by a rampant Real Madrid side spearheaded by Cristiano Ronaldo. Even Juventus fans had to stand and acknowledge the Portuguese superstar’s performance, in particular a brilliant overhead kick to give his side a very comfortable 3-0 away lead heading into the second legs next week.
Whilst Juve are still on top of Serie A and are into the finals of the Coppa Italia, they desperately wanted to make a serious claim to being among the continent’s elite by making another run to the finals. But barring a shocking collapse from Los Blancos, Massimiliano Allegri’s men will likely have to settle for a domestic double this term, and having seen off AC Milan in last weekend’s huge tie, they will want to further extend their lead over Napoli by taking advantage of Benevento’s bad form.
Le Streghe, meanwhile, are fighting a losing battle against relegation. The hosts do come into this game having won 3-0 against Hellas Verona, bringing them to four wins so far this term. And whilst they did manage to beat Sampdoria at this ground, Samp are known for their lousy away record.
Juventus, meanwhile have lost just once on the road in Serie A this season – a 3-2 result against Sampdoria, who, despite their bad away form, are a completely different team on home turf. It’s hard to see how Benevento will be able to get anything out of this game, but they will certainly try to limit the damage for as long as possible.

Benevento vs Juventus: Prediction
Juventus will still be reeling from their Champions League collapse on Tuesday, as they have not lost at home in European competition since Bayern Munich beat them 2-0 in April 2013.
With the next leg coming up in Madrid, Allegri will have to rally his troops to refocus their efforts on the league and getting back to winning ways ahead of their monumental task next week. Despite the loss, Juve should have no problems getting back on track here and consolidating their spot at the top of the Serie A table.
