Belgium will hit the court for the first time in 2018 on Tuesday evening when they host fellow WC contestant Saudi Arabia at Stade Roi Baudouin. The clash will serve as a test before summer’s activities and anything but a comprehensive victory would ruin the momentum for the Belgians who have sky-high expectations with an immensely-talented squad.
Romelu Lukaku has led the team towards a sovereign first place in the Group H of the World Cup Qualifications. Manchester United’s striker has bagged 11 goals en Belgian route towards topping the group with nine wins and a draw in ten qualifiers. The team led by Roberto Martinez had two tough tests in November’s window when they drew 3-3 with Mexico before beating Japan 1-0 (both times on their soil).
Saudi Arabia have once again proven how tough they can be to break down when they held Ukraine to a 1-1 draw in Friday’s friendly. Juan Antonio Pizzi’s side has shipped only ten goals in ten games of the final round of Asian WC Qualifications. Saudi Arabia came second in their respective group beating Australia’s record thanks to better goal difference.
Pizzi does not have big names in his ranks and Saudi Arabia will be one of the underdogs at the upcoming World Cup in Russia. The man who has inspired team’s success in the recent finished qualifications was Mohammad Al Sahlawi who has packed 16 goals throughout the process.

Saudi Arabia have shocked Belgium at the World Cup 1994 beating them 1-0 in the group stage.
The Red Devils came on top claiming a 1-2 victory when the two teams locked horns in a friendly back in May 2006.
