Ireland will hope to capitalize on Belgium’s defeat to Italy when they face Belgium at Stade Matmut Atlantique On Saturday 18 june 2016
Belgium Fans were disappointed with their team’s performance in the first game, their performance was below par and didn’t respond to Italy’s game style as they allowed 2 goals into their goal post without reply, they may find it hard to cope with Ireland. Belgium will seek to redeem their face as they hope for a win or at least a draw to avoid early exit in the tournament.
Ireland would build on the point they earned against Sweden in their opening game. Ireland looked like the winners of the game against Sweden after they found the bavk of the net in the 47th minute but an own goal from Ciaran Clark at injury time drew both teams level on 1-1 score. They will be prepared to get all maximum points against Belgium.
A win for Ireland in this game will give push them one foot into the next round of the tournament and condemn the Belgians but a draw or loose still keeps the group wide open.
Belgium: Predicted line up (4-2-3-1)

Belgium vs Ireland: Head to Head stats
Though Belgium have never lost a game against Republic of Ireland, they have won on 2 games in their 7 games together.
Belgium and Ireland have shared the spoil 5 times in their games together, and this will be the first time both teams are playing in a European Championship final.
They last met in 1997 during the 1998 World Cup qualification, the game ended 2-1 in favour of the Belgians.
Belgium vs Ireland: Prediction
Ireland have all it takes to snatch a win in this game, but the Belgium side are still huge favourites in this game, with the quality of players they have in there squad, they can outclass Ireland. Ireland just needs to put in a decent hard working to be able to stand a chance against Belgium, their best chances at goal will be from set plays.
I expect a bounce back for Belgium, may be a 2-0 score line but the Irish team can put up an upset and win by a lone goal.
- Belgium win
- Half time draw
