Austria vs Israel Prediction
The hosts have turned things around from the dismal two-match losing streak they were on and are currently unbeaten in their last four games. Their previous trip on the road saw them salvage a point against the table-toppers Poland, while at home, Franco Foda’s men slotted six past Latvia to bag all three points.
On the other hand, Israel have been hit by a sharp decline in form. The visitors have salvaged no more than a point from their previous three matchups, and have admitted defeat in two of those three clashes as well.
It is also worth mentioning that the guests have not been at their best on the road so far. Their last outing against Slovenia finished 3-2 to the latter. Prior to that outing, they succumbed to four unanswered goals in their clash with Poland. Their only win away from home came against the struggling Latvians.
Furthermore, the guests have not been faring well in their visits to Austrian soil and are yet to register a win against this foe here. Foda’s men have been a far more convincing bunch in the comforts of their home and have been winning with a clean sheet intact in their last two matchups here.
Given the run of form that the hosts are on in their back yard, Israel have little chance of pulling off an upset.
However, the visitors are unlikely to go down with a fight. The away side have scored five goals from their previous three outings alone. In addition, four out of their last seven overall head to head meetings have been high scoring affairs with a total of three goals or more on the final scorecards. Hence, count on both teams to have their scoring boots on in this one.
Also, Israel’s Eran Zahavi is currently leading the goal-scoring charts with nine goals to his name. Considering that he bagged a treble when the two teams last locked horns, brave punters could even back the forward to find the back of the net on Thursday.
